Colin grew up in Alabama participating in
Pony Club, foxhunting, teaching, and horse showing. As he
progressed through levels of eventing, he trained with top
professionals in the sport including Jim Graham, Mimi Combs,
Bonnie Mosser, Phillip Dutton, and Boyd Martin. Each of these
individuals imparted to Colin a unique philosophy, program
structure, and set of tools to tackle problems in training and
produce correct rideable horses.
Recently, after graduating from the
University of Virginia, Colin worked for a year for Stephen
Bradley as a barn manager and rider. In this capacity he was
involved with every aspect of a top caliber eventing program. He
worked horses in all stages of training, including backing
babies, introducing horses to jumping,
and schooling upper level competition horses. In
addition, he gained experience coaching and handled the day to
day challenges of running an eventing barn.
